were calculated following Kostadinov ''et.al.'' 2009

file naming convention uses most of the original SeaWiFS file name,
replacing RRS_rrs_*_9km.bz2 with .XiNo.nc.


here YYYYdddYYYYdddd is the year and 3-digit day-of-year, for the start and end of the month long composite file.
 
each netcdf (V4 "classic") file contains the variables Xi (<math>\xi</math>)and logNo

single floats with a fill value of -999.
